EN Sziget is built on a simple but powerful idea: freedom. More than just a music festival, Sziget is a temporary city - a colourful, open world where “Szitizens”, as its visitors are known, are invited to embrace who they are, who they want to be, and everything they are curious to explore. It is a place where everyone is welcome, where individuality is celebrated, and where the boundaries of everyday life quietly fade away. For more than 30 years, Sziget has believed in the transformative power of shared experiences - the kind that ignite discovery, joy, connection, and adventure. This philosophy, woven into every detail of the festival, is the reason Sziget proudly carries its well-earned name: The Island of Freedom. DE Sziget ist mehr als ein Festival – es ist ein Gefühl von Freiheit. Freiheit, die in der Musik schwingt, in der Kunst aufleuchtet, in den Menschen weiterklingt, die aus aller Welt anreisen, und in den Momenten, die auf dieser Insel zu Erinnerungen werden. Hier entsteht für ein paar Tage eine eigene Welt: eine offene, farbenfrohe Stadt, in der die „Szitizens“ – wie die Besucher:innen liebevoll genannt werden – ganz sie selbst sein dürfen. Ein Ort, an dem jede Identität Platz hat und jeder willkommen ist. Seit über 30 Jahren vertraut Sziget auf die Kraft gemeinsamer Erlebnisse, die Neugier, Freude und Abenteuerlust entfachen. Deshalb trägt es seinen Namen mit Stolz: The Island of Freedom – die Insel der Freiheit.

About me

Márk Bóna, also known as “marka”, is a Budapest-based event manager and booker.

He began working at Sziget in 2004 and is still part of the festival team as a booker. His role includes booking smaller live music venues at the festival. He is also part of the Sziget Festival production team, overseeing production advancing, as he previously did at the VOLT and Balaton Sound festivals.

Márk has worked as a booker for clubs such as Kultiplex, Zöld Pardon, and Barba Negra, and he also served as a senior event manager at Roxer event agency.

In addition to festivals and clubs, Márk is one of the owners of Berg Talent Management, a company that represents local acts and DJs for bookings and releases.

He is also involved in workshops and training sessions for music managers and teaches a festival-organising course at MHRS, one of the most popular schools for music management.

Márk Bóna, auch bekannt als „marka“, ist ein in Budapest ansässiger Eventmanager und Booker.

Seit seinem Einstieg beim Sziget-Festival im Jahr 2004 ist er kontinuierlich Teil des Teams und heute für das Booking kleinerer Live-Musik-Bühnen verantwortlich. Zudem gehört er zum Produktionsteam des Festivals und betreut das Production Advancing, wie zuvor bereits bei den Festivals VOLT und Balaton Sound.

Zu seinen früheren Stationen zählen Tätigkeiten als Booker für die Clubs Kultiplex, Zöld Pardon und Barba Negra sowie die Position des Senior Event Managers bei der Eventagentur Roxer.

Darüber hinaus ist Márk Mitinhaber von Berg Talent Management, einem Unternehmen, das lokale Acts und DJs im Bereich Booking und Releases vertritt.

Er engagiert sich zudem in Workshops und Weiterbildungen für Musikmanager:innen und lehrt Festivalorganisation am MHRS, einer der renommiertesten Ausbildungsstätten für Musikmanagement.
