Matt Szymanowski is a Silicon Valley-native film director and creative producer who honed his skills in San Francisco and Los Angeles across advertising, esports, and Hollywood. For the past four years, he has been based in Poland and is the founder of Bear & Bot, an AI-driven studio developing original IP and hybrid cinematic work. His films and campaigns include projects for Netflix, Volvo, BBC, Pepsi,and DLA Piper, and his debut feature, “The Purple Onion”, was a Sundance Lab finalist.

His recent work includes A Human Future, a documentary on artificial intelligence shot in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Dubai, Riyadh, Israel, and across Europe, and Captive Mind, a hybrid AI live-action science fiction feature currently in development.

Matt studied directing at the National Polish Film School in Łódź, is a Berlinale Talents alum, and a TEDx speaker. He has hosted and moderated events in Dubai and Amsterdam, curated programs in Poland with leading AI toolmakers, and spoken across Europe on AI, authorship, and the future of cinema at key festivals and industry events.

Er studierte Regie an der Polnischen Nationalen Filmschule in Łódź, ist Absolvent von Berlinale Talents und TEDx-Speaker. Zudem hat er Veranstaltungen in Dubai und Amsterdam moderiert, Programme in Polen mit führenden KI-Entwickler:innen kuratiert und in ganz Europa über KI, Urheberschaft und die Zukunft des Kinos auf bedeutenden Festivals und Branchenevents gesprochen.
